Seven Number Twenty-Three
The Marion E. Wade Center of Wheaton College (Ill.) publishes VII: An Anglo-American Literary Review. The title number referes to the seven writers Owen Barfield, G.K. Chesterton, C.S. Lewis, George MacDonald, Dorothy L. Sayers, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Charles Williams. Founded in 1980, VII's 23rd volume has been announced, which includes articles:
"Chesterton: Social Criticism and the Sense of Wonder" by Richard Gill
"That 'such a genius should be a beastly American': C.S. Lewis as Critic of American Literature" by Jack L. Knowles
"'My Dear Norah": The Course of a Friendship" by Christopher Dean [correspondence between Dorothy Sayers and Norah Lambourne]
"Eagles with Attitudes: Chaucer and Tolkien" by Emma Hawkins
Review article: "Theism and Thought" by Mark R. Talbot
plus reviews of 14 books about various writers and writings of the Seven.
