Article by Larry Flynt

Jerry Falwell and Larry Flynt were good friends, write Larry Flynt in this article in the LA Times. Who knew? He writes in a kind creepy way about it, no? It's too bad Falwell never converted him. Though, Larry, it's not too late. (Thanks to Bobby Winters for the link.)

Whatever Falwell's final opinion of Flynt may have been, it is encouraging to see that Flynt considered Falwell his friend. It reminds me of Jesus eating with tax collectors and "sinners."

I never followed Falwell's life at all, but from the little I have learned after his death, e.g. that he had a pastor's heart for God's people, I thank him belatedly for his perseverance.

This article is perfectly consistent with the man my friend on the faculty of Liberty University describes. Rev. Falwell loved people and he wanted everyone of us to be reconciled with the same Savior whom he loved and worshiped. It has become trite, but my friend described a man who hated the sins of our culture but loved the sinners. May Jerry Falwell yet find that someday Larry Flynt is with him in eternity, praising the Lord who died for the sins of both of them.

"It's too bad Falwell never converted him."

Thank goodness, that wasn't Falwell's job. He only had to introduce Flint to the Savior. Perhaps Falwell planted a seed that will take a decade or more to blossom.

More than a decade, I'm afraid. He "converted" back in '77. Sort of. For a while.Wikipedia corroborates my fuzzy memory

Hate to bring this up, and I don't want to speak ill of, well, you know: but preaching the Gospel to one like Flynt is enough to show him God's love, and that the Son of God is his Saviour. One does not have to be friends, or to chum around in good ol' boy commonalities to show God's love. Else it might be confusing. Even to the sinner.

Witness this, from Larry himself:

"He was definitely selling brimstone religion and would do anything to add another member to his mailing list. But in the end, I knew what he was selling, and he knew what I was selling, and we found a way to communicate."

I guess "communication" embraces the activities of Christmas card exchanges, diet plan fax transmissions, and visits by Falwell to Hustler International.

I know that the deceased may have meant well, but he would have done better by being less vituperative in his public persona, and less friendly in person.

Yes, I mean that. It's very easy to make like Savonarola on the bully pulpit, but be chummy over Larry King and walnut desks. It is better to say in public "Larry, you need to repent before the God Who is Love." It is better to say, face to face, "Larry, you're a sinner, and from now on, I cannot meet with you until the day that you confess the Trinitarian faith, and burn Hustler down."

John the Baptist set a biblical precedent, didn't he? And do you recall what Jesus said about John the Baptist?

This article proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that people don't buy Penthouse for the articles!

Larry Flynt owns Hustler, but this is an area where ignorance is to your credit.

Dear Larry Flynt , Editor ,

Needed one writer with some balls!!!

If you take about a minute and a half you should be able to read this email and then you'll be sitting on the Mike Judge creator of beavis and butthead story of the decade.

Throw caution into the wind and give me a minute and half. Just that much.

Everyone always fail to report some very very important and elusive facts about Mr. Judge I don't think you are aware of . Pretty easy to verify too , it's just no one has ever known to ask these questions specifically. Kind of hard to dodge a question when it is so finely pointed. Did Mike Judge creator of Beavis and Butthead ever go to school in Michigan? hughh?? for how ever brief a time??? 1) Did he ever go to detroit Catholic Central in redford michigan during the 1980-81 school year for a few months? ( It was cause his dad had work there for a while), I am telling you , yes he did. A few calls can get some transcripts , not a big deal. Can't fake those or hide from them , but you can lie about them until someone actually gets off the couch and checks , no one ever has before. 2) Did he participate in his first cartoon animation contest there first part of the 1980-81 school year ( app sept- oct 1980 to be finished before the christmas break) at Detroit Catholic Central . oh yes he did!! His school transcripts will put him there , all students in the school were asked as part of art class to submit a cartoon animation character at that time. . Mr Judge did submit a drawing for that very contest. Don't worry the story will get juicy , you won't be disapointed.

A few questions have never been answered by Mr Judge in any interview ever ,always very evasive , Where did the original inspiration for the two characters billy and bobby from the short frog baseball come from , exactly , their names please? (The beavis and Butthead precurser , before it got picked up by mtv). What was the first animation contest you ever entered / submitted a drawing for ??? Where is the real highland high ? Is there in fact a real life billy and bobby (beavis and butthead)? he switches those around so be careful , just ask about Billy and Bobby , never exactly answered always elusive.

I'll tell you why , he never wanted any dots drawn back to Detroit Catholic Central in the year 1980-81 because once people researched the first animation cartoon contest he was in , it would be discovered he didn't create beavis and butthead. I know that is a very very harsh accusation , but the truth is the truth , and the little kid deserves his credit due finally , even after all these years. He should be ashamed of himself beating up a little kid for his drawing!!!! That is just plain not fair . Only a few minutes in research time could uncover that , here is how , it was photographed and put in the school news paper. Isn't that interesting? There were actually a few kids chosen to represent the school that year, mr judge's drawing didn't make it , 3-4 others were chosen and sent to the first big animation contest out in california later that year. They asked all large tier 1 schools in the country to submit drawings , they did and it was a huge deal , very well doumented show.. Funny one of the drawings sent was called billy and bobby , the plot was , one had a baseball bat the other had thrown a frog in the air, (thus frog baseball) two characters named billy and bobby that look exactly the same. Receiding hairline stick figures and all. Kind of an awful darn big coincidence don't you think???? The real higland high is detroit catholic Central ( now in Novi on Wixom road) the real beavis and butthead is named william and robert seppla , bob was a senior in 1980-81 , his pic is uncanny with, receiding hairline and all. The little kid who did the drawing was named James Radtke.

If Mike Judge doesn't have a tie back to Detroit and Detroit Catholic Central , why would he have gone to the John Herzog's Catholic Central ( Who is a Brighton , Mi. Real Estate attorney) Leukemia Charity Golf Tournament ? Just thought i would put a little icing on your cake for you!!!

Happy Hunting !!
