May the Best Person Win?
From the Wall Street Journal:
New Hampshire didn't clarify much, but it did turn this into a two-man Democratic race. John Edwards will stage a last hurrah in South Carolina, but he'd need a populist miracle to reverse the Hillary-Barack narrative. Chris Dodd, Joe Biden, and now Bill Richardson -- all gone. The story is now Mrs. Tear versus Mr. Cheer. It'll be a dirty street fight up until the big primary day of Feb. 5, and perhaps beyond.
A street fight in a "two-man" race? Are there no inclusive language police at WSJ? What was the author, Kimberley A. Strassel, thinking?

I think that despite the "tears," Strassel got it right. Consciously or unconsiously.

Now Mr. Kushiner, you need to understand that this is a metaphor. She might as well have said "two dog race" or "two car race".

Ms. Strassel clearly knows that Sen. Clinton does have a pair of her own. They're hanging on the wall in her office, and they used to be Bill's.

Crass? Yes. Sexist? How so?

I think perhaps she meant two man as in only two men left--Obama and Edwards..hence the reference to Edwards' last hurrah in SC.

Crass? OK, I accept that. But I did spend four years in an all-male college and 27 years in the Army, so perhaps, even though my language has improved, my figures of speech can still sometimes be less than dainty...
But "sexist"? C'mon, that's a libel-word used by liberals to harass and intimidate anyone who believes in traditional (that is, Biblical) male-female roles. And I am not easily intimidated (see "27 years in the Army," above).
So when you call me that, pardner, smile.

Most people named Jason were born at a time when they grew up being stuffed with feminist and leftist propaganda throughout their education. "Sexist" is a valid word in their vocabulary. It's not their fault. But now that we've told you, Jason, you have a responsibility to think about it.
