Back to Work
While still in the midst of the Twelve Days of Christmas, I am back to work today, asking myself what 2009 will bring. My first waking act of the New Year was to get up and go to church to celebrate the Feast of the the Circumcision of Christ and receive Holy Communion. Since we began a new "year of our Lord," 2009, it was fitting to begin the year with the feast on which the Name of the Lord was given. All is to be done, and prayed, "in the Name of Jesus" and yesterday we heard the Name of Jesus given in the Gospel from St. Luke, and thus began the new Year of the Lord. What's in store for 2009? While we all have our plans, and perhaps "resolutions," the best of all is to begin each day on our knees, so to speak, seeking the Lord's grace and mercy upon our lives, our loved ones, and our plans, which have to be tentative and revisable. If we are just too busy to pray regularly, we are doing the wrong things. Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Please pray for the Fellowship of St. James.

Jim,
May God bless you and the others who govern the Fellowship of St. James. You and your fellowship have been a true blessing to me and many others over the years.
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all the coming year and evermore.
