Today marks the opening of the online Touchstone readers, or TREADERS, discussion page. We will regularly post articles and open the comments section for an online discussion. Most of the articles that will be posted here will be available at the Touchstone online archive, but some will only be available in the print edition. So, this is an encouragement to subscribe if you would like to fully participate in the Treaders. The discussions will not be moderated, but will be monitored by Touchstone editors and staff. Authors will be encouraged to participate in the discussions as well. We will also list physical Touchstone reader groups that meet in homes or on campuses. If you would like your group to be listed, please send your contact information to me.
So, why the name TREADERS? In addition to the reference to "readers of Touchstone," one reader, Tom Wells, wrote that it suggested to him "the name of C. S. Lewis's mythical, mystical, marvelous ship the Dawn Treader. Its voyage of exploration into Narnia's utter East took the children to the very edge of Aslan's own country, and to the revelation of new truths and the reassuring promise of yet more to come. An appropriate title, perhaps, for our own faith voyages."
