Tomorrow, June 30, many Christians celebrate the feast of the first martyrs of the Church of Rome. To help our readers prepare for the celebration, we have posted Mike Aquilina's article The Martyr's Cup (March 2006) to the Touchstone archive. Please read it for more insight on the relationship between martydom and eucharist.

SS. Peter & Paul is everywhere, East and West alike, June 29; the feast of the "Protomartyrs of the Holy Roman Church," encompassing a much larger number of (mostly unknown -- save to God -- individuals) is on June 30.
