The following was inspired [sic] by Best of the Web postings from today's Wall Street Journal:
Biased anti-religious journalism? I arrest [sic] my case: When something bad happens, or is at least attempted, you can connect it to the word "Christmas" and link it to the Christian holy day. As in this story from Sweden. Enjoy. No doubt, the religious background of the Christmas observance has, once again, inspired violence. You can say "Christmas" (meaning "Christian") if you can show it to be violent or wicked.
In what seems at first to be an unrelated story in Pittsburgh, another goat turned up, this one apparently unscathed, too. But, hmm, the story was filed by one Torsten Ove in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. If his name is Swedish, then, well, don't you get it? Tell the Pittsburgh police to be on the lookout for a (most likely blond) gingerbread man, armed, and possibly dangerous.
I take full responsibility for this post.
That (blonde?) gingerbread person must be a ba-a-a-a-a-a-a-ad man.
Sorry couldn't help myself, it just came out. Please excuse me while I chew on some paper.

Isamashi,
So you are a good eating goat. My children love the children's book, Gregory The Terrible Eater, though I think it more because my name is Gregory than the quality of the story, though the story is pretty funny, at least for young children. I am glad to know you don't suffer from Gregory's eating disorder. ;-)

That's right James... make Swedes your scapegoat! I think you're just creating a straw man. (uh... straw GOAT?)
More bad puns anyone?
Actually, those shenanigans sounded rather delectable. It reminded me of Tony Esolen's young men from his essay last June.

Some one builds a giant straw goat in the middle of town, and boasts that it is fire retardant. What self-respecting young man wouldn't try to burn it down? The the Swedish authorities, I say, baaaaaah, humbug!
