I want to thank the many generous donors who have been contributing the last several weeks. While we did fall short this year (I don't have the final figures yet), the amount of support that came in enables us to at least live for another day and keep publishing, which is no small thing, and sometimes a tight budget can be a blessing in an unwelcome disguise. (It's still a disguise at the moment.) We're told to pray for our daily bread.
The summer and early fall months are particularly challenging for us when our cash is depleted, since expenses outstrip donations and revenues--most of our direct mail marketing is best done in the summer and fall for all of our publications, including the calendar. Donations at this time will especially help, and I also invite readers to consider signing up as monthly donors at this time. It's an easy way to set up an affordable monthly gift--which now range from $5 to $100+ per month. We've just over fifty such contributors and I would like to see if we can get up to 100 monthly supporters soon. (FYI, we've over 1,000 annual donors)
Anyone signing up here as a monthly contributor will receive a signed copy of our highly-regarded Touchstone reader, Creed and Culture, with 21 essays from our first ten years by writers such as Thomas Howard, Russell Kirk, David Mills, Vigen Guroian, Patrick Henry Reardon, and James Hitchcock. It will come in the mail shortly. Your monthly support, as it is added to others, will give us a stronger dependable base of regluar support on which to build. (Of course, more subscribers would help, but it takes time and money to make those "sales"! You can help with gift subscriptions.)
Thanks once again to so many of you who have been so kind and amazingly generous!
