I took the day off, but Al Mohler's blog today disturbs me, so here I am. Recall that many in the "Christian community" were all over the pro-life "religious right" for kow-towing to the GOP for years and being "used" by them. No one need worry about that now. It is increasingly unfashionable to remain committed, not to the GOP per se, but to the pro-life cause. In the meantime, on the other side of things, are we seeing lapdog chaplains wagging their tails for the chance to appear in public as a spiritual leader, uttering prayers vetted for proper orthodoxy (i.e., "dump this 'Jesus' name business," among other things)by the Theology Department at the White House? Whose orthodoxy? Next thing you know, Arianism will become the new thing, with the full muscle of the state behind it. Oh, except it will have to be an Arianism without using the name of Jesus. Well, never mind. Sooner or later, everyone in this game is going to meet the Master Jesus himself and have to give account. The economy's all shook up, but we can definitely bank on these three things: death, taxes, and the Second Coming.
Here's the correct link to Al Mohler's blog, Jim:

Hmmm. Socialist takeover of the economy with state approved religion. We've seen this before, just not in this country.

Compartmentalize. Marginalize...what will come next for Christianity in America's public sphere?
Mr. Kushiner: that should be death and TEXAS.
