That's what Planned Parenthood advocates, according to C-FAM, the Girl Scouts seem be eating it up faster than a kid with cookies at the UN Commission on the Status of Women this week.
Further, C-FAM notes:
The New York Times recently reported that UN Population Fund had co-sponsored a very controversial curriculum with UNESCO, that included teaching children as young as five to be sexually active and training adolescents to advocate for abortion.
Goodness, Jim! Where do you find these things? I'm guessing it's time to give up Thin Mints. Don't need 'em anyway.

I haven't bought Girl Scout cookies in a long time for two reasons, one of them being how Girl Scouts have been in bed (pardon the pun) with Planned Parenthood for some time and the second reason being that the troops themselves get very little money from the sales (~$0.70 per box). I am looking into American Heritage Girls for our daughters. There are plenty of copycat recipes for Girl Scout cookies on the web, if you are interested in baking.
Original Published Girl Scout Cookie Recipe from 1922 (use crystal sugar or turbinado for sprinkling)
Samoas
Thin Mints
Do Si Dos
Tagalongs
The best part of using these recipes is that they use actual butter and other good ingredients. I hate turning down the Girl Scouts when I see them, but I cannot support this organization any longer. I was in Girl Scouts as a child and the anti-religion, pro-libertine attitudes were already creeping in then.

I forgot this one:
Lemon Coolers
I remembered there was a lemon cookie, once upon a time.

Oh, and it appears I was too generous with the amount of money the troop receives. It is actually $0.40 - $0.50 to the troop, depending on the price of the cookies in that region. Most of the money goes to the council and GS national.

Scouting seems a sad reminder of postmodern alienation from traditional forms of initiation for boys and girls. There have long been rumors of nefarious intentions of their origins, and some well-substantiated cases of sexual abuse.
As a boy, one of my greatest desires was to be a Cub and Boy Scout. My father was absolutely dead-set against it. He was a Scout, and left me one of my prized possessions, his Scouting manual. He may have known things about Scouting that I didn't. Possibly:

I shared this with my wife, and we are both stunned, saddened, shocked, dismayed, you name it. Weren't the Girl Scouts right up there with mom and apple pie? Talk about the loss of innocence. The next thing you know they will re-make Bambi into a movie about deer being used to smuggle drugs into the country.

The New York Times article is back from September 2009. Is there any recent confirmation of this story from a source other than C-FAM.
I only ask because this is a story I might consider passing along in my own blogging circles and it's good to have some sources when you're doing that sort of thing.

Thanks. Girl Scouts were selling cookies after church last Sunday. Surely the mothers and church don't know. We'd bought some at Wal-Mart but won't again. I've downloaded the C-Fam info and am sending copies to the local council, my church, and diocese. I urge everyone to do the same.

I am going to my parish's family life council to ask them to stop supporting a secular organization and to instead support the American Heritage Girls, a Christian scouting type group. As to the man whose dad didn't let him join the scouts, I am a lifelong member of the scouts and have seen some bad leaders who ruin it for all, but overall leaders and the scouts are wonderful people. There are many many rules in place to protect children from predators that we did not have back in the 70's and 80's when I was a youth member.

thank you. My daughters are both in GS, but we will not renew again....no need to participate in matters that grieve the Father Heart of God.

As a parent of a Girl Scout and a Catholic, I was greatly disturbed by the recent article put out by C-Fam. I found this page while researching the topic. I think everyone needs to take a breath.
The Girl Scouts have countered with the following response: http://www.girlscoutsem.org/share/GSUSA_Update.pdf
I'm not saying either way at this point, but a mob hunt is what this is turning into. What would make planned parenthood and the enemy more happy than if millions of girls left Scouting so they'd have more time for exactly what the alleged pamphlet advocates.
There needs to be additional sources rather than just this 1 person's report. C-Fam contributes the article to 1 witness, who was outside of the room.
Just something to think about.
To respond to the criticism of cookie sales:
$3.50 per box
$.77 girl recognition and troop profit (cash profit .55-.65 depending on boxes/girl average)
$1.87 Local GS Council
$.86 paid to bakery
The troop receives 22+%, and benefit from the additional 53%. Council maintains all district camps, Council provides scholarships so no girl is turned away because of her inability to pay, train leaders and other adult volunteers, etc......
The best way to perpetuate evil...eliminate good.

National Review has a good article concerning this issue.

For what it's worth, the GS were not very specific on what went on during some of the seminars. There was one that was for teens only and I believe that was the one that the person was kicked out of. Also, if you research the organizations that go to this conference, you will find many are involved in women's rights, which also deal with abortion.
From what my council has told me, they were unaware that Planned Parenthood was present and they did not see any material relating to the articles that are being posted. My question was: This is a conference that takes place every year, which includes the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women and the World Association of Girls Scouts and Girl Guides (WAGGGS). The association of girl scouts are made up of members of the GSUSA. How could the GS not know who was in attendance? No one could answer my question.

I am Catholic and am the leader of both my daughters' Girl Scout troops, and was a Girl Scout myself as a child. The Girl Scout law states that each Scout will "serve God and my country," so I don't know where people are getting the idea that the Girl Scouts are anti-religion.
Nothing I have been taught in my leader training nor anything I have seeen from any official Girl Scout source indicates that the organization is encouraging girls to have sex or get abortions. Whatever may have happened at that conference is unfortunate, but I hate to see people running wild with unsubstantiated stories and dragging a wonderful and reputable organization through the mud in the name of religion.

That's insane. Those girls should not be subjected to this kind of teaching!

This is so saddening. Those poor children should not be treated like that. I condemn with this kind of teaching!
