Well, somebody has to.
Church bells to ring out in September for species protection
London (ENI). Support for United Nations talks on biodiversity will be marked in Britain by the biggest nationwide peal of bells since celebrations to mark the eve of the third millennium, organizers say. "Ringing the church bells is a great way for the wider community to be reminded and to celebrate the beauty of creation," said Jill Hopkinson, the (Anglican) Church of England's national rural officer, in a 10 August statement. The denomination is urging cathedrals and several thousand parish churches to ring their bells to mark the talks at the U.N. general assembly on 22 September in New York that will address the international failure to meet targets on species conservation. Well, finally the Church of England takes a stand on SOMETHING! The divinity of Jesus Christ? Not really. (See Bishop Spong.) The sanctity of Marriage? Nope. (See Bishop Robinson.) Practicing homosexuals as priests and bishops? (see above.) Divorce? (See Henry VIII.) Women priests? (See ECUSA bishop.) Contraception? (See church history circa 1932). Abortion? (see the lukewarm teachings of Bishop Jefferts-Schoori).
At least, the Church has found her true calling: to protect OTHER species, while degrading our own.

I know exactly how to meet species targets, and I will be happy to pass on the information, which took some diligence to acquire.
You put the crosshairs just behind the shoulderblade and level with the top of it, and squeeze with a gentle but steady pressure.

Not really defending them, but I will say I much prefer them spending time conserving animal life, which is at least related to our duties of stewardship, to them spending time promoting immorality.

V-Dawg, there's plenty of time for both.
