E. Christian Brugger writes about "eggsploitation," at the Culture of Life Foundation website. As long as an action is done by someone wearing a white lab coat, and money is involved, it is hard to convince people that some of these things just shouldn't be done. Harvesting eggs from human beings: That could have been the plot of the 1950s sci-fi movie about sinister aliens invading Earth, and stealing eggs from females. Now that the stealers are earthlings and they don't steal but pay for the eggs, I guess it's okay.
There is a film referred to in the article called "Eggsploitation." There is a trailer there you can watch.
the film follows the lives of several egg donors, showcasing two in particular. One reports that during the extraction procedure, she became dizzy, short of breath, her blood pressure dropped and she experienced intense abdominal pain. After being assured by the clinic that she was fine, her blood pressure dropped to the fatally low level of 40/20. She was finally admitted to the hospital.
To say nothing about the supposed prohibition on the sale of human body parts.
