From BioEdge:
Oregon woman wakes up after dental procedure with a Brit accent.
"Brain dead" woman is "unplugged", but wakes up three days later.
Concerning the case of the "brain dead" woman, I have to agree with one of the post's comments, that there is precious little detail in the article concerning brain activity, or lack thereof, other than the rather sensationalist headline. Other than a nameless physician reportedly saying the case was "hopeless" no evidence is given as to whether or not the woman could have been considered "brain dead." For all we know, the hospital may have done some cost benefit analysis, thought she'd die without the respirator, and therefore urged the husband to disconnect his wife. Perhaps it was a simple coma (if there is such a thing). I'd want much more detail before I held that one up as a "brain death" survival story.
